  Never, ever again - this experience, from start to finish, was the worst I've ever been subjected to. I knowingly paid MORE for inferior wood because 1) they had it in stock and 2) I'd usually prefer to give my business to a locally-based lumber yard over a big chain. They accidentally charged my card for more than double the purchase price of my wood, then stubbornly insisted there was 'nothing they could do' when Amex put a full 8-day hold on over $900 of my money due to their error. I was forced to pay AGAIN and tie up over $930 for 8 days, 5 days before Xmas. After 3 days of pleading with them to make a simple 5 minute phone call and try to rectify the situation, since their negligent mistake basically tied up all of my money at Xmas, they FINALLY agreed to reverse the hold and acted as if they were doing me a favor in doing so. The icing on the cake was when Amex told me 3 days later that there never had been any reversal and sure enough, the hold remained for the full 8 days.
  
  Their customer service is atrocious and their attitude is brutal. But things happen - when you're walking into a lumber yard as an individual buying only 200 lf of wood, you can forgive them being a little 'rough around the edges'. In fact, I wouldn't even be leaving this review if not for the fact that the wood they sold me is essentially GARBAGE. So far, at least 20% of it is entirely useless due to splits, gouges and chunks being knocked out of it and I'm not even halfway through it yet.
  
  I would be fine with paying a little more to support a local business over a corporate chain. I'd even put up with the gruff attitude, inferior customer service and occasional screw-up. But all that AND the wood is terrible? No thank you - never again.
